April 29 – May 16: Maintenance is scheduled to repair 12 damaged sections of trail surface and shoreline armoring along the Olympic Discovery Trail, located between Lees Creek and Morse Creek (see map).
This segment of trail will be closed for approximately three weeks while repairs are underway. Alternative routes heading eastbound and westbound are available on the Port Angeles website ( https://www.cityofpa.us/CivicAlerts.aspx?AID=1812 )
The trail damage is the result of a winter storm in January 2024. The damage was submitted to and accepted by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for disaster relief funding. All grant-eligible project expenses are expected to be reimbursed through the agency.
