Ben’s Bikes Sequim rental bikes cannot be transported to the Spruce Railroad Trail on any vehicle. It is possible for skilled riders to ride to the East Beach Trailhead via 101 Hwy west of Port Angeles.
The Spruce Railroad Trail is a 14 mile round trip that can be accessed from Fairholme Campsite or East Beach Trailhead. The Fairholme Campsite is 43 miles from Ben’s Bikes Sequim and typically takes an hour plus drive. Riders will use Camp David Junior Road to travel Northeast on the Trail. East Beach is 36 miles from Ben’s Bikes Sequim and also takes about an hour drive time.
In that Ben’s Bikes Sequim e-bike rentals have a range of 55 miles under ideal conditions, it is unlikely that the charge would survive a 90 mile round trip.
The Spruce Railroad Trail section is a 14 mile round trip. The Trail goes through two railroad tunnels, the McFee Tunnel and the Daley Rankin Tunnel. We recommend having a light on your bike.
The Devil’s Punchbowl is a short detour from the main route and takes you over the water with superb views of Lake Crescent.
The Trail is inside the boundaries of the Olympic National Park. Riders do not need a pass or pay a fee to use the Trail.
The Spruce Railroad trail is a multi-users paved path so anticipate dog walkers, human walkers, e-bikes and kids. The parking lot at East Beach is small and can fill up during nice weather days.
