Description

The Robin Hill MTB Ramble is located in an easy mountain biking area that can entertain you with numerous loops of varying lengths in a mostly wooded park in rural Clallam County. The trails are single- and double-track width, typically on hard-packed dirt, but short, muddier sections can occur, especially after heavier rains. There are ample twists and turns with some short, steeper (7-10% grade) sections providing both more strenuous ups and invigorating downs. This 5-mile ramble is a good, tamed-down (270′ elevation gain) introduction to what MTB riding on the North Olympic Peninsula can be like. The route indicated here provides the rider with an overview of all the trails in Robin Hill, but can be freely modified to accommodate the rider’s whims.

There are two parking areas available to access the Robin Hill MTB Ramble, one on Pinnell Road (used for this ride), the other on Dryke Road. The paved Olympic Discovery Trail (ODT) runs along the northern edge of the park and can be used as cycling access to the park from either Sequim to the east or Port Angeles to the west.

The closest place for food is the Agnew Store, a quaint country store about two miles from the Pinnell Road parking area. It is accessed by going west on the ODT to Matson Road, then north to Old Olympic Highway. The store is 500 feet to the east of the intersection.
